The Conference DVD has now come back from the duplication service, and been mailed out to those of you that ordered it. If you haven’t received your copy by 20-12-2011 then please give us a call on 0845 458 9571 or e-mail us at rebelliousmediaconference [at] riseup.net.
We received 192 responses to the Whole Conference evaluation (on paper and on-line).
See here for a sample of the feedback that we received together with responses from Peace News (the core organiser for the RMC) to some of the questions raised.
The conference organisers are producing a fundraising DVD to help defray the costs of putting the conference on.
The DVD – which is currently in production – will contain both Noam Chomsky’s keynote address (including Q&A session) and the closing plenary, as well as speeches by other major figures including Michael Albert, coordinator of ZCommunications, one of the world’s biggest radical websites.

World-renowned linguist and dissident Noam Chomsky will be giving the keynote address at this October’s Rebellious Media Conference.
A leading critic of the mainstream media, Chomsky is the author of “Necessary Illusions: Thought Control in Democratic Societies” and (with Edward Herman) “Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media”.
“Arguably the most important intellectual alive today” [1], Chomsky has written that those wishing to play a meaningful role in influencing public policy must begin with honest inquiry, and education of themselves and others, and that the means to carry out these first steps include “media and publishers who do not bend to state and private power” [2].
Other confirmed Conference speakers include documentary-maker John Pilger (The War You Don’t See), blogger Laurie Penny, radical publisher and activist Michael Albert (ZNet), and journalist Amira Hass (Haaretz).
Conference co-organiser Milan Rai (Peace News) said: “We’re honoured that Noam Chomsky will be speaking at this October’s Rebellious Media Conference. A conference about radical media without Chomsky would be like Wimbledon without Nadal.”
Protestors staged a demonstration outside the Radical Media London office after receiving a ‘cease and desist’. Radical Media – a PR agency – claim that the Radical Media Conference infringes its trademark. Read more
